Two Medina men have been arrested in connection with the theft of 18 handguns from a Medina gun shop after Brunswick and Strongsville police reported finding a Medina teenager in possession of one of the weapons early Saturday morning.

Police say burglars made off with 18 handguns from DC Guns, 218 N. Court St. in Medina, after they used a rock to smash the front window.

The gun store owner discovered the break-in Friday morning.

Fifteen semi-automatic pistols and three revolvers — all name brands — were taken, reports said.

Sobriety checkpoint tonight on Pearl Road

MEDINA TWP.— The Medina County OVI Task Force along with the Ohio State Highway Patrol will conduct a sobriety checkpoint tonight, starting at 7 p.m., in the 3500 block of Pearl Road (U.S. Route 42), north of Fenn Road.

Patrick M. Kennedy, president of the Gloria Glens Park Village Council, has been convicted of his third drunken driving charge.

Kennedy, 45, of Demi Dune Drive, was found guilty of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failure to control a vehicle at an Aug. 26 trial. Medina Municipal Judge Dale H. Chase decided the case because Kennedy waived a jury trial.
